Femi Fani-Kayode Reacts After Atiku Told CBN Governor Not To Succumb To Blackmail

A spokesperson of the APC, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to a statement issued by the presidential candidate of the PDP in which he asked the CBN governor not to succumb to blackmail by extending the deadline for the submission of the old notes. Atiku also accused the APC of intending to buy votes and that that’s the reason some APC members were mounting pressure on the CBN governor.

In response to Atiku’s claims, Fani-Kayode said nobody has involved in vote buying in Nigerian elections than the presidential candidate of the PDP. He added that the reason why the APC was protesting against the new Naira policy was because of the common people, especially those in rural areas.

Speaking on, he said the reason why Atiku was saying all these is because his children will be seeing food to eat throughout the month, whether there’s cash or not.

He said “we’re not talking about the issue of votes now. We’re talking about suffering – what people are going through. The pain they’re feeling and the insensitivity of the CBN governor and the insensitivity of Atiku and his party. For him to say that nobody should succumb to blackmail, is it because his own children would have food throughout this month whether there’s cash in the street or not? “
