APC Suspends Campaign To Mourn 13 Dead PDP Members

The Plateau chapter of All Progressives Congress has suspended its campaign tour for three days, in honour of 13 supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who died in an auto-accident along Panyam -Pankshin road in the state on Saturday.

Aside the 13 people who were confirmed dead in a truck accident along Pushit – Panyam road, many others were also injured.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress(APC) presidential candidate, has tasked governorship and National Assembly candidates of the party to protect Nigeria’s future by ensuring clear victory in the 2023 general election.

He said this at a meeting with APC governorship and National Assembly candidates on Sunday in Abuja, adding that they must collectively work for the party’s victory in the general election at all levels.

Atiku, Saraki, Others Visit Victims Of Plateau Truck Accident

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Sunday, visited scores of injured party supporters at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), who were involved in a road accident which occurred in Mangu local government area of Plateau State on Saturday.

This is even as the PDP presidential candidate suspended all campaign engagements slated for Sunday, January 15, 2023 to mourn the 16 persons who died in the accident.

The former Gombe State PDP Chairman, Hon Shuaibu Baba Sabulu and thousands of other members of the party key party stalwarts decamped to the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) on Sunday.

The NNPP gubernatorial candidate, Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki, party Chairman and other executives, and hundreds of supporters were in Billiri LGA to receive the decampees, among whom were Yila Dankuka, a

former Deputy Chairman, Billiri LGA, Phillips Bataliya and Hon Muhammad Balas.

67 Killed In Nepal Plane Crush

At least 67 people were confirmed dead Sunday when a plane with 72 on board crashed in Nepal, police said, in the Himalayan country’s deadliest aviation disaster in three decades.

“Thirty-one (bodies) have been taken to hospitals,” police official AK Chhetri told AFP, adding that 36 other bodies were still in the 300-metre (600-foot) gorge the aircraft plunged into.
