The Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) of Kenya is an award presented to individuals in recognition of an outstanding service rendered to the country. Especially, those who put their lives at risk to save their fellow countrymen. 

Straight to the point, Catherine Kasavuli was feted with the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) in 2008 as the Presidential Award by the late President Mwai Kibaki. This was to reward her outstanding job in the media as the first Kenyan woman to ever grace the Radio and Television screens.

In 2015, Kasavuli launched an independent media aptly dubbed Kasavuli Media Group.

Among the notable recipients of this award include Former Senate Speaker, Hon. David Ekwee Ethuro, former speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Justin Bedan Muturi, former leader of the majority party in the Senate, Hon. Prof. Kithure Kindiki, and the current leader of majority party in the national assembly Hon. Adan Duale.
