With about six weeks before the highly anticipated 2023 presidential election, Labour Party presidential candidate and former Anambra state governor, Mr Peter Obi has urged Nigerians to elect president that is fit and capable to lead the country.
Speaking during an interactive session with the management of the University of Nigeria Business School in Enugu on Thursday, Obi said some candidates want to lead the country but they can’t stand and speak for 30 minutes. According to him, these kinds of people should not be voted into power.
“We have been here for over two hours; we don’t want people who can’t stand for 30 minutes.” Sun Newspaper quoted Mr Peter Obi as saying yesterday.
Obi went further to cite some examples using American model of democracy. He said Candidates in the United often go for debates to tell Americans what they can offer but the case is different in Nigeria.
Hear him “During election, they go for debates. Somebody once asked Barack Obama questions that are personal and he answered.”
