Sikika Road Safety has since urged members of the public to report to the nearest police station when they spot the car.

“This vehicle has just been stolen now at Kwihota Ruiru while the owner was attending a burial. Kindly, a share will help,” the source captured the photo.

Theft of cars on the rise

In the recent past, the theft of cars has been on the rise in different parts of the country. It is believed that a car theft syndicate could be behind the many cases happening across the country.

For instance, back in December last year, Uasin Gishu County Police commander Ayub Ali revealed that a three-gang member of a car syndicate was nabbed after the police received a crucial intelligent report about the group.

His sentiments were echoed by County Commissioner Edyson Nyale who revealed that some of the thugs pose as police officers before executing the theft of cars. The officers also recovered several number plates and logbooks from the suspects.

“One of the suspects had a fake police identification card which means these individuals impersonate police officers when committing crimes. The court has allowed us 14 days to finish our investigation and we shall leave no stone unturned,” Nyale had said as reported by Citizen Digital.
