Ahead of the February forthcoming presidential election, A former Minister of Health, Prof. ABC Nwosu, says that the IGBO people made the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the governor of Lagos State in his time but did not give them any appointments.
He further stated that when Asiwaju wanted to become governor of Lagos State, the IGBO people who lived in Lagos State helped Tinubu become governor. As repayment for what IGBO people did for him then, he decided to appoint IGBO men into his cabinet, he said.
According to him, the decision of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint some IGBO people into his cabinet when he was governor of Lagos State was a form of compensation for igbo people for helping him become the governor of Lagos State. Asiwaju might deny it or not, but what I know is that I played a part in him becoming the governor of Lagos State, he said.
