If you frequently visit social media pages you must have come across Regina Muthoni at some point. She is a gospel musician from Kirinyaga county who became popular through her song “Yesu alishinda yeye ni Simba Wa yuda”.
Some hours ago she was live in an interview talking about her life, music career and why her marriage ended. She said her mother hated her because she was named after his father’s sister who was her enemy. As a result of this she was not taken to school which Forced her be a house girl.
When being a house girl turned unbearable she started selling banana’s where she met her husband who took her to Embu county and she become a tailor. After giving birth to her second born child the music talent emerged but the husband was against her singing which made her run to her uncle’s home.
The uncle sponsored her music production and she went back to her husband and when he realized the talent was earning a lot of money he started supporting her. She started going up to Tanzania but unfortunately some people advised the husband that if the wife would becomes more rich than him she would despise him.
The husband therefore asked her to choose between music and him and failure to that would leave her and marry another wife or destroy her voice box and she will never sing again. The husband started sleeping with a knife under his bed pillow which made her know everything was not okey.
After sometime her ampedix was affected and after being admitted the husband didn’t care anymore and she realized he had another wife with three children whom he wanted to marry. From there she left the marriage up to date and she feels completely lonely although it’s better than living in a violent marriage. Watch the video below.
