Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi explained that he appointed women to key positions during his eight years as governor of Anambra State because they are more productive and less corrupt than men.
At a rally organised by Channels Television on Sunday, Obi promised to bring more women into government if he is elected president.
The former governor of Anambra State recalls how he almost created a ‘Ministry of Men’s Affairs’ after women occupied key positions during his governorship.
Recall that former Minister of Education, De Obiageli Ezekwesili said that women were more supportive of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, President Peter Obi.
According to her, women and the younger part of Nigeria are on the path of change.
Noting that women make up about 51% of the voting population, Ezekwesili said Obi’s chances cannot be ruled out, given the diverse regions of the country and the desire of people for an inclusive approach to governance.
