Real Sociedad have made it three consecutive La Liga victories after beating Almeria 2-0 in front of their fans. Even though Almeria’s home record this season has been excellent, it is difficult to ignore that when picking a result prior to the game. But Real Sociedad have been impressive too, having won five of their seven games on the road. Real Sociedad, however, navigated their way to what are definitely three important points, and they scored both goals in the second half of the game.
David Silver opened the scoring in the 47th minute, while Sorloth scored the second five minutes later. Turning 37 years old today, Real Sociedad’s David Silva is the oldest player on record to score on their birthday in a La Liga match.
As it stands, this result puts Real Sociedad 5 points ahead of Atletico Madrid, who will host Barcelona tonight. Real Sociedad will be playing Champions League football next season if they can continue winning games.
