Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, lacks the moral standard necessary to reform Yahoo Boys.
Atiku claimed his APC colleague, Tinubu, needed medical treatment after Tinubu declared he would turn Yahoo Boys into technology specialists if he were elected president.
If elected president in February, Tinubu plans to fulfill a campaign promise to the Yahoo boys by establishing a technological center in the country.
The APC nominee has pledged to establish centers of industry and technology that would empower young people to participate in the nation’s economic growth and social progress.
His announcement came during a gathering in Benin City, Edo State.
Atiku said that Tinubu couldn’t rehabilitate the Yahoo Boys because of his history.
In a statement sent via his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku stated that Tinubu should provide an explanation for his history with Yahoo Boys before he attempted to reform the group.
Shaibu said in part, “Bola Tinubu performed another comic skit at the APC Presidential rally in Benin City on Thursday when he pledged to transform “the so-called Yahoo boys” in Edo State into “experts in the manufacture and fabrication of chips that din dasan dadauga.”
If he had been addressing a Christian congregation, we may have imagined he was speaking in tongues, but this was a campaign rally, and he was meant to be selling his candidacy to the millions of young people who have been unable to find work due to the spread of the sickness known as the APC.
Instead, he chose to label the youth of Edo State as “Yahoo lads” and “fraudsters.”
Tinubu should not be visiting the Aso Rock Presidential Villa but instead should seek immediate medical assistance, as his regular gaffes prove.
