The Kenya National Parents Association (NPA) is asking the government to move school reopening dates further to accomplish construction of enough infrastructure for Junior Secondary Schools.
“The government has the right to postpone schools reopening for one or two months to have these structures in place before learning can resume,” said NPA chairperson Silas Obuhatsa.
As the ministry of education is set to transit from Primary to Junior Secondary for grade six learners as from 23rd January, Parents Association seen this move as need to be delayed further for the government to be ready with enough infrastructure.
While addressing the nation about their preparedness for Junior Secondary, Education cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu said that the government is set to employ new tutor to minimize shortage of teaching staffs as well as continue constructing more classes and Laboratories.
The Chairman was speaking after the National Treasury started releasing National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) to Constituencies to fasten further construction of more infrastructures in Schools.
