Today 5th January 2023 the Ministry of Health has sent a message to all Kenyans concerning the state of corona virus in the country. The Ministry of Health has mandated the National Emergency Response Committee to give information concerning the virus.
In a press release sent by the Ministry of Health has informed Kenyans that 729 sample sizes were tested. From the sample sizes tested 47 people tested positive for the virus.
From the new cases 35 are females and 12 are males. The youngest is 2 months and the oldest is 93 years old.
According to the Ministry of Health, total confirmed positive cases in the country now at 342, 562. Cumulative tests done in the country so far stands at 3, 959, 753.
In terms of county distribution; 35 new cases are from Kisumu County, Nairobi County has recorded 4 cases, Nakuru County has recorded 2 cases, Uasin Gishu county 4 cases, while Nyeri and Siaya 1 case each.
No new recoveries were reported in the country. This means that the total confirmed recoveries remain at 336, 787. From the 336, 787 recoveries 286, 056 are from the home based isolation and care program and 53, 731 are from the health care facilities in the country.
No death was reported in the last 24 hours. Also there was no death reported in the period which was under review. This means that the death toll in the country remains at 5, 688.
According to the Ministry of Health, 8 patients are currently admitted in the health care facilities countrywide and 79 are currently in the home based isolation and care program. 1 patient is under the supplementary oxygen and is in the General Ward.
