He said government and civil society organisations need to work together in addressing the problem of illegal foreign nationals.<\/p>\n<p>He further went to touch the issue of porous border and said that they must be strengthened to avoid foreign nationals flooding in the country undocumented. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working, we have worked with organisations representing refugees and migrants in Gauteng, we will continue to work with them,\u201d Makhura said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to make sure they are in our province and our country legally. We also want to ensure our state provides security to the borders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t want citizens to take the law in our own hands, it\u2019s the job of law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to work with civil society concerned with migration and undocumented foreigners. Nobody should resort to violence and law enforcement officers should do their jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople should be attacked or killed because they are foreign nationals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eNCA\/status\/1495747634304323597?t=FL0606H_1sGLY68pGRbpzw&amp;s=19\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">South Africans<\/a> were not pleased with Makhura\u2019s call. Social media users flooded to Twitter to call the premier out, some are alleging him and other politicians who have taken the side of the foreign nationals of trying to protect their businesses which are based in foreign countries. <\/p>\n<p>The user claimed that the country is in this mess because of the premier and his politician friends particularly those who are in the ruling party.
