Police officers are thought to have been clearing the area of suspects.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/4c3bfa596b334b64832466ffddb58d8c\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Since last week, SAPS has been tracking the group\u2019s travels, according to provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela. \u201cThey didn\u2019t commit their crime last week, so today they decided to commit their crime, but our teams were right following them, and when they realized the cops were approaching, they rushed to their safe house, which is when our highly trained team intervened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/5ae7f9364b504e5aa7bd0798feae60db\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The crew was preparing a cash-in-transit crime, according to Mawela, but were stopped by a highly skilled SAPS unit. \u201cThey were watching money and were about to strike it, but our guys advised prevention is better than cure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/e3cd7666d1674dcabf405a13e43e54f7\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Before \u201canybody did anything to them,\u201d Cele claims the suspects shot and injured a helicopter pilot. The majority of the firearms utilized in today\u2019s shootout were AK47s. The recovered vehicles include hijacked and high-powered autos.
