When you listen to Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena on press conference or post match interview. He always touch on the numbers concerning a particular player. When Sundowns sign Ralani he explained how good is the player in terms of the distance he covers covers compared to other players.<\/p>\n

Many people are wondering where does he gets this numbers to measure the performance of players. The are number of tech gadgets that some big PSL clubs use to to check performance especially when they decide to sign a player to join their respective teams.<\/p>\n

GPS are becoming a trusted tech gadgets for most of PSL teams. If you focus, you can often see GPS underneath the Catapult(Sport tech ) vest when players warm up before the match.<\/p>\n

Teams such as Sundowns and Cape town city use technology a lot to scouts players in Africa and abroad.They always try to match the players with their requirements and criteria for a specific position. They also use tech such as performance software in collaboration with GPS vest to check who should be substituted.<\/p>\n

Rhulani Mokwena was seen last year in one of sundowns matches flaunting a performance software tool.<\/p>\n

There is a believe that these technology they often give the team an advantage over their opponent in terms of changes to be made to improve performance.<\/p>\n

Stellenbosch Academy Sports(SAS) Boss Rob Benadie said they use these some of these technologies to recruit a player from South America Juan Carlos Ortiz from Venezuela.<\/p>\n

Benadie says some of these technologies are quite expensive. At times a team is forced to fork out R100 000 for Software licence in order to access more information. When you check on Takealot.com 1 GPS t-shirt can cost around R4000 each. Imagine for the whole team it could cost up to R120 000 to cover all players depending on how many you have.<\/p>\n
