About 10 MPs havr called to sign the motion,\u201d he stated in an interview on Asempa FM\u2019s <strong>Ekosii Sen<\/strong> programme Friday.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, four Majority MPs led by Mr Annoh-Dompreh filed a motion for\u00a0a bi-partisan investigation into the death of the former statesman.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Their aim is for Parliament to constitute a committee \u201cto unravel the unending mystery surrounding the death of late President Mills which sad event occurred on July 24, 2012.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But this motion has been met with stiff opposition from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n<p>NDC MPs and its leadership have condemned the initiative; noting that this is a ploy to divert attention from the vital and pressing issues in the country.<\/p>\n<p>General Secretary of the NDC, Asiedu Nketia, Samuel Atta Mills, the deceased\u2019s brother and former Deputy Information Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, are among those opposing the move.<\/p>\n<p>But Mr Annoh-Dompreh indicated that the opposition party has misinterpreted the NPP\u2019s patriotic and well-intended action. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe late President was a national asset without contention,\u201d the MP for Nsawam-Adoagyir constituency added.<\/p>\n<p>He said the probe should have been an initiative of the NDC and Minority in Parliament \u201cif you have nothing to hide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Annoh-Dompreh assuranced that the probe into Atta Mills\u2019 death \u201cwill not undermine other equally important national concerns\u201d as alleged by some members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>--><\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"x8BKgo3ddto\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Adom TV News (18-2-22)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x8BKgo3ddto?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Frank Annoh-Dompeh The Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh- Dompreh, has revealed more Members of Parliament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have expressed interest in the private members\u2019 motion for a probe into the death of former president John Evans Atta Mills.
