Why do you grant people permits without consulting us, the citizens, to determine whether or not we want those people to remain in our country?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among other methods, a handful of the enraged South Africans who believe Zimbabweans should return home have expressed themselves in this manner.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, the government stated that it will prolong until the end of 2022 the Zimbabwean exemption permit (ZEP) provided to Zimbabwean citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In his capacity as Minister of Home Affairs, Aron Motsoaledi has chosen to extend the exemption in order to allow people who hold it to apply for visas.<\/p>\n<p>Some argue that this 12-month timeframe is an insult to unemployed South Africans.
