\n Oluwatimilehin Afolabi (19) and Kehinde Mustapha (19) have been detained in a detention center by an Ekiti State Chief Magistrate\u2019s Court in Ado Ekiti for allegedly attempting to murder a 23-year-old lady.\u00a0They were charged with attempted murder on one count.\n<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe defendants conspired and attempted to murder one 23-year-old Blessing on February 2, 2022, in Ikere Ekiti, contrary to sections 516 and 320 of the Criminal Code, Cap. C16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012,\u201d according to the complaint.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI am a commercial sex worker at a brothel in Ikere Ekiti, and Oluwatimilehin is my customer,\u201d the victim stated to the police in her statement. He called me around 8.55 p.m. on that day, asking me to meet him along Ise Ekiti Road in Ikere Ekiti.\n<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhen I arrived, I met up with him as planned.\u201d Timilehin suddenly moved back and grabbed my neck from behind while we were walking together. He choked me to death until I passed out. Blood was streaming out of my mouth when I regained consciousness after a while. Some kind strangers came to my aid. Timilehin was apprehended afterwards, and he referred to Kehinde as his herbalist.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\nInspector Oriyomi Akinwale, the police prosecutor, requested that the two offenders be remanded in custody.\n<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBy remanding them, the police will be able to conclude their investigation and transmit the duplicate case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal guidance,\u201d he explained.\n<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe first and second defendants are to be transported to the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Ado Ekiti, and remanded there for a term of 30 days,\u201d the Chief Magistrate, Bankole Oluwasanmi, said in his judgement.\u00a0Oluwasanmi postponed the hearing till March 10th.\n<\/p>\n
