Over 7000 online petitioners with the Concerned Mobile Network Subscribers (CMNS) have called on all Ghanaians to join in their campaign to enforce productivity within the re-registration of SIM Cards in Ghana. <\/p>\n
According to the CMNS and petitioners, there are no specific laws that make it possible for the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to embark on a Sim Card re-registration exercise. <\/p>\n
Apart from the legalities of the exercise, they demand that the National Communications Authority (NCA) would appropriately come up with a Framework for the sim re-registration. Thus, providing a framework for re-registration makes it possible for all Mobile Network Operators to follow due procedure during re-registration. <\/p>\n
From the group of petitioners and concerned group, they indicate that the lack of a productive framework has made the procedure cumbersome. Individuals form long queues in order to get their sim card re-registered. This wastes a lot of valuable time that could significantly affect the economic situation of the country. Thus, affecting the small and medium-size organizations, since it is the sector with more employed citizens. <\/p>\n
It is therefore important for NCA to provide a framework that is productive and healthy to all citizens of the country. <\/p>\n
