Contenders for the Governor’s seat in Homa Bay County have been told to stop transferring voters from other counties.

Speaking at Rapedhi trading center during a voter registration mobilisation exercise, Homa Bay gubernatorial contestant Jared Kiasa said transferring voters from one county to another will lead to many invalid votes.

“Any situation that could deter the population in Nyanza from casting their votes will interfere with our endeavours of ensuring 100 per cent voter turnout,” said Kiasa.

Kiasa warned the youth against falling prey to false promises ahead of elections, incitement and political violence.

“Politicians don’t use their own children to cause violence. Be cautious, and reject leaders out to incite political violence,” said Kiasa.

He also called on fellow contestants to spearhead the voter listing campaigns by mobilising unregistered residents to enlist.

“The respect for youthful aspirants will depend on how they conduct themselves. Embrace sobriety,” he added.
