{"id":977296,"date":"2022-02-05T07:51:04","date_gmt":"2022-02-05T07:51:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/05\/i-pity-assin-north-mp-annoh-dompreh\/"},"modified":"2022-02-05T07:51:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-05T07:51:04","slug":"i-pity-assin-north-mp-annoh-dompreh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/05\/i-pity-assin-north-mp-annoh-dompreh\/","title":{"rendered":"I pity Assin North MP &#8211; Annoh-Dompreh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"404\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/download-Copy-2-696x404.jpg\"   alt=\"Embattled Assin North MP James Gyakye Quayson\" title=\"Embattled Assin North MP James Gyakye Quayson\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Embattled Assin North MP James Gyakye Quayson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, is worried about the nonchalant nature of embattled Assin North Member of Parliament (MP), James Gyakye Quayson.<\/p>\n<p>He could not fathom why such a noble man belonging to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will gamble with his life because of partisan interest.<\/p>\n<p>The Assin North MP has been charged with perjury and forgery by the Attorney-General\u2019s office. <\/p>\n<p>The NDC MP is being accused of deceiving a public officer and knowingly making a false declaration.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>But the Minority in Parliament has vowed to resist any attempt by government to reduce their numbers in the August House ahead of voting on the controversial E-levy.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"690\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Annor-Dompreh-.18-PM-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1903551\"  \/><figcaption>Frank Annoh-Dompreh<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Reacting to this on Asempa FM\u2019s <strong>Ekosii Sen<\/strong> programme Friday, Mr Annoh-Dompreh said the Minority just wants to seek public sympathy.<\/p>\n<p>He said that argument is moot because prosecution of the Assin North MP begun long before government introduced E-levy.<\/p>\n<p>Hon. Annoh-Dompreh, who is also MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency, urged the NDC and lawyers of Hon. Gyakye Quayson to argue their case in court not in the court of public opinion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnforcement of the law is not in our bosom as law makers so if the NDC has any argument, they should do it in court,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Majority Chief Whip maintained that, government is focused on the bread and butter issues of Ghanaians not to reduce numbers of the NDC Caucus.<\/p>\n<p>Hon.
