Onyeka Onwenu, a 70-year-old mother, revealed why she divorced her husband in an interview with media personality Kikilomo Atanda-Owo.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cI went through it, it was difficult because I really didn\u2019t want my marriage to end but I couldn\u2019t take it anymore, it would have killed me. I always say that that is the truth and it was not good for the children to live in that kind of environment where the mother is depressed, the mother is carrying the weight of the whole family\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI raised my children from kindergarten to master\u2019s degree. My husband didn\u2019t pay school fees for one day, didn\u2019t buy clothes, didn\u2019t pay for holidays, didn\u2019t give me housekeeping money but he was a nice and kind and generous man and basically, there was control where if you didn\u2019t do the things he wanted, \u2018well I\u2019m not going to help you, I\u2019m not going to give you money and I would like to say this to Nigerians, any man who has children, has a family and decides not to take care of them, you\u2019ll have to answer to God.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
