Please follow me for more updates. <\/strong><\/p>\n Ghanaians have massively descended on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after his revealing why the government led by himself introduced the controversial Electronic Levy Bill. A lot of the reactions do not agree with the President on why we should accept the E-levy and so they shared their views. <\/p>\n Since the introduction of the Electronic Levy Bill during the reading of the 2022 budget statement at Parliament, this is the first time President Akufo-Addo has said something about the controversial Electronic Levy Bill. <\/p>\n The President while speaking to a group of people who visited him at Jubilee House on February 2, revealed why E-levy is important to the country currently. He mentioned that it will not be good for the country to always be depending on foreign grants and loans to develop our nation. <\/p>\n Therefore, we have to generate revenue that will help build our country and that’s why they introduced the E-levy. He reiterated that the government doesn’t have money to run the country other than taxes the people pay. <\/p>\n ” It’s not going to be possible for us in Ghana to continue forever to be dependent on foreign grants and loans to keep our economy going. We ourselves would have to find the money for our development. That is why it has become necessary for us to introduce measures like this famous task that has caused unnecessary disputation; nevertheless, we will continue.”<\/p>\n ” I am determined to persevere to make sure that we find the means to address the issues confronting us.
