Officers of the National Signals Bureau were reportedly in court to present alleged red handed pictures and videos of Captain Smart taking 10,000 bribe from his victim. <\/p>\n
This followed after the complainant Mr Ahmed Kwabena Nkrumah who works at the Tema Harbour was reportedly threatened by Captain Smart to pay the said amount which is equivalent to over 100,000 Ghana cedis or get him exposed on Onua TV morning Show over some issues at the Port.<\/p>\n
Out of fear and disgrace Mr Ahmed Kwabena Nkrumah reportedly accepted Captain Smart’s request and sent him an amount of 50,000 Ghana cedis.<\/p>\n
He later slept over his action and reported the case to the Police. Workers from the National Signal Bureau were Secretly dispatched as Mr Ahmed Kwabena Nkrumah scheduled a date to deliver the balance to Captain Smart.<\/p>\n
According to the prosecution, Captain Smart sent one of his boys to receive the money on his behalf. All these while, filming and picture taking was ongoing.<\/p>\n
Immediately Captain Smart’s boy handed the envelope to him, he reportedly placed it in his right pocket. At this juncture, Officers from National Signal Bureau showed themselves and requested about what Captain Smart was putting in his pocket.<\/p>\n
Both Captain Smart and his boy were arrested but managed to jump bail. Today, Circuit Court Judge Kk Obiri Yeboah has officially charged Captain Smart with extortion. His boy has also been charged with abutment. However, they were given a bail in the sum of 50,000 Ghana cedis.<\/p>\n
The case has been adjourned to 22 February 2022.<\/p>\n
