{"id":973654,"date":"2022-02-02T13:51:12","date_gmt":"2022-02-02T13:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/02\/western-cape-treasury-releases-monthly-covid-19-procurement-expenditure\/"},"modified":"2022-02-02T13:51:12","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T13:51:12","slug":"western-cape-treasury-releases-monthly-covid-19-procurement-expenditure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/02\/western-cape-treasury-releases-monthly-covid-19-procurement-expenditure\/","title":{"rendered":"Western Cape treasury releases monthly Covid-19 procurement expenditure"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/060459ff-b8a1-56e7-a604-e28e76d4d41f&#038;operation=CROP&#038;offset=0x203&#038;resize=2462x1385.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<div><!--sse--><\/p>\n<p>Cape Town &#8211; The Western Cape government\u2019s Covid-19 procurement expenditure for December last year amounted to just under R70 million.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday the provincial treasury released the 19th monthly edition of the Procurement Disclosure Report for the period  December 1 to December 31.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The exact procurement expenditure figure was R69.85 million of which R69.74 million was spent by provincial departments and R108 877 by public entities.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, it said that most of the expenditure came from the provincial Health, Public Works, Premier\u2019s and Transport departments.<\/p>\n<p>Provincial Health involved expenditure on personal protective equipment (PPE), non-PPE expenditure and the vaccination rollout programme while Transport and Public Works focused on non-PPE expenditure such as the hire of Brackengate hospital facilities, human resources, transport services, accommodation and the hire of the CTICC as a mass vaccination site. The Department of the Premier\u2019s expenditure involved Covid-19 related communication and advertising services in respect of prevention, awareness and behaviour change.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"RelatedArticlescss__StyledRelatedArticles-sc-10g88yu-0 ezIKFV\">\n<h2><span>MORE ON THIS<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The provincial department provides detailed monthly reports.<\/p>\n<p>For the November period expenditure amounted to R63.47 million of which R63.46 million was spent by provincial departments and R4 902 by public entities.<\/p>\n<p>Procurement expenditure for October was just over R85 million of which R85.78 million was spent by provincial departments and R80 541 by public entities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The second quarter report for the period July to September last year shows that the province\u2019s expenditure amounted to R350.31 million.
