Local actor Sello Maake kaNcube weighed in on Katlego Maboe being absolved of misconduct by the Magistrate\u2019s Court following claims made by his ex-girlfriend Monique Muller.<\/p>\n

The former \u201cExpresso Show\u201d host shared a statement on his social media pages via his publicist Lerato Maleswena on Monday regarding the judgment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe court agreed with the submission of a Point in Limine from Mr Maboe\u2019s legal team, ruling that there were no grounds for obtaining the protection order.<\/p>\n

\u201cFurthermore, the court has not made a finding of acts of domestic violence that were allegedly perpetrated against Ms Muller, and as such, the matter has been dismissed. This is a great victory for Mr Maboe, who has maintained his innocence throughout the two-year ordeal,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

Taking to his Facebook page on Tuesday, the former \u201cGenerations\u201c actor weighed in on the matter and said: \u201dNow what? He gets to pick up the pieces of his life and move on? Some things are really unfortunate and wish him well on the journey ahead!!!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Muller also responded to the judgment on her Instagram Stories on Monday, and stated: \u201cTo set the record straight: As per agreement between the parties, there has been NO NEW acts of domestic violence since the application of the IPO.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the correct outcome as per the court ruling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Muller shared how she wasn\u2019t happy with the outcome of the judgment, claiming that the justice system is for \u201cabusers\u201c and not \u201dvictims\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI feel saddened by the fact that during this whole process, I learned that the courts \u2014 especially the magistrate\u2019s court \u2014 is not for victims. It is a stage for abusers and that’s where they thrive,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Maboe is set to pursue legal action against Women for Change founder Sabrina Walter and SA Film and Television Awards (Safta) chairperson of the judges, Dr Janet van Eeden. <\/p>\n

He also shared in his statement that a charge of defamation was pending against Sabrina Walter in the Muizenberg Magistrate\u2019s Court for posting defamatory and untrue statements against him, which led to his removal as a Safta nominee in the category of Best TV Presenter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
