{"id":921394,"date":"2022-02-01T09:43:06","date_gmt":"2022-02-01T09:43:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/news\/2022\/02\/01\/muldersdrift-shooting-len-cloetes-recovery-is-slow\/"},"modified":"2022-02-01T09:43:06","modified_gmt":"2022-02-01T09:43:06","slug":"muldersdrift-shooting-len-cloetes-recovery-is-slow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/02\/01\/muldersdrift-shooting-len-cloetes-recovery-is-slow\/","title":{"rendered":"Muldersdrift shooting: Len Cloete\u2019s recovery is slow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/be42ea63-374b-51bf-9503-04cc6c692831&#038;operation=CROP&#038;offset=0x0&#038;resize=739x416.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div><!--sse--><\/p>\n<p>Durban: A month after Muldersdrif shooting victim Len Cloete began rehabilitation, a spokesperson said his recovery has been slow. <\/p>\n<p>Mike Bolhuis of Specialised Security Services, a private investigation company, told  that Cloete is doing \u201cbetter by the day\u201d, but it is a slow process. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Cloete was shot by police on November 15 at a hotel in Muldersdrift. <\/p>\n<p>A video, which was widely circulated on social media, shows Cloete wearing only his underwear, insulting police officers before allegedly seizing a gun from one of them.<\/p>\n<p>He was then shot at close range by another police officer and was taken to hospital in a serious condition. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"RelatedArticlescss__StyledRelatedArticles-sc-10g88yu-0 ezIKFV\">\n<h2><span>MORE ON THIS<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>This week, Bolhuis said: \u201cHe is still being tube fed. He is not getting worse. But progress is as slow as a sloth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that family and friends of Cloete were still visiting him. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce there is enough progress in his health, where he can be interviewed, we will do so. It is not the near future.\u201c<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Last month, Bolhuis said Cloete recognised his wife and had kissed her.<\/p>\n<p>This week, Ipid spokesperson Grace Langa said they would visit the hospital this week to try and get a report from his doctor.<\/p>\n<p>No charges had been opened against the policeman. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Durban: A month after Muldersdrif shooting victim Len Cloete began rehabilitation, a spokesperson said his recovery has been slow.
