Former Eskom executive, Koko Matshela who previously argued that he can’t wait to see what deputy chief justice Raymond Zondo wrote about him in the second part of the State Capture Commission report has revealed that he received a billion rand while hitting back at his critics.<\/p>\n

This comes after Koko Matshela in defense of former president Jacob Zuma and suspended ANC secretary general of the ANC, Ace Magashule said there is still no evidence to show that they were indeed involved in the Vrede scandal which happened in the Free State province.<\/p>\n

“We are yet to obtain documentary evidence proving that Zuma and Magashule were involved in the alleged scheme”, Matshela quoted the NPA report of the scandal in which Zuma and Ace Magashule are alleged to have been involved in.<\/p>\n

But Koko Matshela seem to have his own issues as critics argue that his close relations with the that was awarded the Kusile contract will come back to bite him.<\/p>\n

“Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) was awarded a R2.2bn control and instrumentation contract for Kusile in 2015, and subsequently awarded Impulse R800m in work \u2013 despite the fact that Impulse failed ABB’s tests for subcontractor appointments twice and did not qualify to do the work,” it was revealed.<\/p>\n

One of the companies which won that tender is said to be the one owned by Koko Matshela’s step daughter and critics argue that they hope he received a cut of the candy because if it so happens that he will be found guilty of wrongdoing he will be the one in hot water.<\/p>\n

For quite some years, there has been allegations that Koko Matshela ‘fixed contracts’ for his step daughter, the controversial one being the R800 million Eskom Tender.<\/p>\n

Koko Matshela unperturbed by the threats and in his bid to spite his critics stated that he actually received a billion rand.<\/p>\n

“I was gifted a billion rand.\u00a0I told more than enough for you to do whatever you think should be done,” he said.<\/p>\n

Deputy chief justice Raymond Zondo is expected to release the second part of the State Capture Commission report this week and many people are waiting to see who will be implicated for wrong doing.<\/p>\n
