We should refrain from verbal and physical attacks against each other if we are to take this country forward,\u201d said\u00a0Wanyonyi.\n<\/p>\n<p>His bid received a major boost after the Kamba community in the capital backed his candidature.\u00a0Wanyonyi\u00a0was given traditional regalia and handed tools used during a hunting mission. They symbolise protection and power. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are here because we saw, interrogated, scrutinised and realised that Tim\u00a0Wanyonyi\u00a0is the candidate we will walk with,\u201d said Urban Kamba Nation chairman Alex Musyoka.\n<\/p>\n<p>Musyoka however said they would support\u00a0Wanyonyi\u00a0on condition that he fulfilled their demands among them that\u00a0he considers a member of the community as his running mate.\n<\/p>\n<p>Mr Musyoka and the group\u2019s National Coordinator Nicholas Mutuku told\u00a0Wanyonyi\u00a0to consider the community in city jobs, business environment and education.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have endorsed Tim\u00a0Wanyonyi\u00a0as our preferred Nairobi governor candidate. We are also urging him to look into our demands as a community,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n<p>Acknowledging that the Kamba community was one of the largest voting blocs in the city,\u00a0Wanyonyi\u00a0said he would ensure their demands were met under an MoU. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the key things that I want to achieve is to make the city a vibrant business hub with a friendly and conducive environment,\u201d said\u00a0Wanyonyi. \u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>He also drummed support for ODM leader Raila Odinga&#8217;s presidential bid, saying it was time for a shift in the country\u2019s leadership.\n<\/p>\n<p>The development comes days after more than 40 city MCAs endorsed\u00a0Wanyonyi\u2019s\u00a0candidature.\n<\/p>\n<p>Imara Daima MCA Kennedy Obuya said the signs points towards ODM party leadership throwing its weight behind\u00a0Wanyonyi.
