He also thanked Kraus for her love and support throughout the years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cA year ago today, you took your last breath. So grateful that you at least got to see me become a man. (I\u2019m) so grateful you were there for me to become a husband,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cSo many things I am grateful for, but most importantly, I am grateful for the love you gave me. Gone but not forgotten. I miss you and will always celebrate your life\ud83d\udc94\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CYV3VE1oAXu\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fans and industry friends, including Minnie Dlamini-Jones, Nandi Madida, Dineo Ranaka, Connie Ferguson, Zizo Tshwete and JR Bogopa, sent their messages of support to the Ngwenya and his family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"RelatedArticlescss__StyledRelatedArticles-sc-10g88yu-0 ezIKFV\">\n<h2><span>MORE ON THIS<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The muso broke the news of his mother\u2019s passing in a heartfelt social media post exactly a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you for everything you ever did for me. You gave me a new destiny and a chance for a better life. As heartbreaking as it is to type this, I am also happy that you lived a full life and took your last breath doing what you love doing most, travelling to other countries. We will miss you and love you always \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\udc94\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CJrMoqMl4-y\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>The renowned opera singer adopted Ngwenya when he was 11 years old after his biological mom passed away.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The New York-born star has graced the most famous opera houses of Vienna, Nice, Verona, Salzburg, and throughout Europe.<\/p>\n<p>According to the June Kraus Academy website, her international career included leading roles in opera, operetta and musical productions across Europe. She sang Mozart\u2019s operas and Lieder in festivals all over Europe.<\/p>\n<p>When she moved to South Africa,  she dedicated her life to the development of arts in South Africa and to the musical education of its youth, including those from disadvantaged communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>She performed for Nelson Mandela and many other African leaders. <\/p>\n<p>She has performed regularly as a soloist with the Pretoria Bach Choir, under the leadership of Maestro Bruno Peyer, singing major Oratorio pieces such as Handel\u2019s Messiah, Mozart\u2019s Requiem and JS Bach\u2019s St. John\u2019s Passion.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/sse--><\/div>\n<p><script async defer src=\"https:\/\/platform.instagram.com\/en_US\/embeds.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Local musician and television presenter Sipho \u201cPsyfo\u201d Ngwenya remembers his late mother, renowned opera singer June Kraus on the first anniversary of her passing.
