{"id":913534,"date":"2022-01-05T09:46:14","date_gmt":"2022-01-05T09:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/news\/2022\/01\/05\/22-year-old-kzn-man-killed-allegedly-over-stolen-speakers\/"},"modified":"2022-01-05T09:46:14","modified_gmt":"2022-01-05T09:46:14","slug":"22-year-old-kzn-man-killed-allegedly-over-stolen-speakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/05\/22-year-old-kzn-man-killed-allegedly-over-stolen-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"22-year-old KZN man killed, allegedly over stolen speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/1641375974_86_6b90a979-4336-52d5-8786-63694fb40fb1&#038;operation=CROP&#038;offset=0x69&#038;resize=960x540.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<div><!--sse--><\/p>\n<p>Durban: Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Sanele Kunene, who was accused of stealing speakers. <\/p>\n<p>According to police the incident took place on December 30 at about 5pm. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele said it is alleged that five people went to the victim\u2019s residence in Majuba Lane in Wyebank and assaulted him. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was accused of stealing speakers belonging to one of the suspects. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cKunene sustained assault wounds to the body and head and was declared dead on the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Mbele said a case of murder was being investigated by Pinetown SAPS. <\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, January 4, Pinetown detectives made a breakthrough, arresting three people aged between 19 and 22. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe remaining suspects are still at large but their arrest is imminent.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The suspects are expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate\u2019s Court soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe community is urged to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and let police continue doing their job by investigating and arresting the suspects involved in criminal activities,\u201d said Mbele. <\/p>\n<p><strong id=\"strong-ab1bc80ca6d213c369effbca4c9a9094\"> <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Durban: Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Sanele Kunene, who was accused of stealing speakers.
