Every Ghanaian without a political thinking cap will soundly be considering the noise around the E-Levy.<\/p>\n
They will surely consider why both the New Patriotic Party [NPP] and the National Democratic Congress [NDC] are battling it out in Parliament.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The insistence and persistence from the ruling party NPP to make it a working scheme for the country and the confident opposing force of the NDC on how they are resolute on crashing that agenda is quite worrying.\u00a0<\/p>\n
What are they [NPP and NDC] have to lose should parliament approve this initiative?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Who’s truly seeking the good of the country’s economic development?\u00a0<\/p>\n
With Parliament serving as the ground of determining the faith of the E-Levy, I beg to differ that the E-Levy will be chocked and sandwiched between the espionage of the NDC and the unwavering objective of the NPP in seeing it becoming a reality.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that it has indeed contracted a private to “collect, track and monitor” the controversial E-Levy at a cost of Ghc242million paid to the .<\/p>\n
As declared by the Deputy Minister of Finance John Kumah where Ghc242Million will be paid to the new for “monitoring, tracking, and validation of all the receipts that will come from the e-levy”.<\/p>\n
The New Patriotic Party led by the finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta can’t ascertain that oil money, VAT, and others couldn’t stop us from borrowing, but E-Levey, which you are projecting to get 6.9billion cedis will let the government stop borrowing from other monetary firms.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Should Ghanaians be worried over the desperation of the NPP government in streamlining this E-Levy in functioning?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Should Ghanaians doubt the sole purpose of the E-Levy?\u00a0<\/p>\n
The New Patriotic Party have borrowed over 220billion cedis within 5yrs and couldn’t use that money to solve the economic problems.<\/p>\n
However, the New Patriotic Party wants Ghanaians to believe that a projected amount of 6.9billion cedis from E-Levy will solve our economic problems, serving as a facelift and an elixir to resurrect\u00a0the fast-falling decline of the Ghanaian economy as declared by the FITCH data research firm.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Whatsoever the outcome of this important debate in Parliament, Ghanaians must be well enough ready to accept it in good faith.<\/p>\n
