Ghanaian politician and a medical doctor by profession, Bernard Okoe Boye has stated why he prefers working in a government hospital than a private facility. <\/span><\/p>\n According to the former Member of Parliament for <\/span>Ledzokuku Constituency, <\/span>Bernard<\/span> Okoe Boye, a friend who called to check up on him posed a question to him after he told him about his work at Lekma hospital. <\/span><\/p>\n The friend asked “w<\/span>hy not get some private hospital to make some more money rather than a government facility?” <\/span><\/p>\n Dr Okoe Boye in response said he doesn’t go to the hospital because of monetary considerations. <\/span><\/p>\n Dr Okoe Boye explaining why he prefers a government facility said, “as a leader, I believe you must be in a system to appreciate it’s strengths and challenges, and so I prefer a government facility so I understand the depth of our challenges and the width that the possibile solutions will take”. <\/span><\/p>\n He added that one must be part of the ecosystem to be able to redirect and redefine it’s potential. <\/span><\/p>\n Dr Okoe Boye writes; <\/span><\/p>\n “A friend called this morning to check on me and posed a question after telling him of working this morning at Lekma; “Why not get some private hospital to make some more money rather than a government facility?, he probed”.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n I answered, ” I don’t go to the hospital because of monetary considerations, as a leader, I believe you must be in a system to appreciate it’s strengths and challenges, and so I prefer a government facility so I understand the depth of our challenges and the width that the possibile solutions will take .
