<\/div>\nA woman has been slammed\u00a0for calling herself a \u201clive-in girlfriend\u201d, which means she looks after her boyfriend\u2019s needs while living a life of luxury. <\/p>\n
Kirsten Spresser, 25, from Queensland, Australia, works three days a week at a landscape architecture studio.<\/p>\n
But for the rest of the week, she is a live-in girlfriend who lives in an apartment with 360-degree views of Brisbane city with a rooftop and infinity pool.<\/p>\n
Alex, her boyfriend, is a high voltage electrician in mines that are a seven hours\u2019 drive north of Brisbane. His work rota is seven days away at work and seven days at home.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cAlex and I have been\u00a0dating\u00a0for six months and he earns significantly more money than I do,\u201d she told the Daily Star.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe prefers to be the person to pay the majority of the household expenses such as rent, utilities and groceries.<\/p>\n \u201cMy salary covers the majority of my personal expenses, such as my personal maintenance appointments, and my personal bills and the cost of social activities, like eating out.<\/p>\n \u201cIf I do run out of money while he is at work, he will top up my bank account if I need. He also loves to spoil me with luxury dates and gifts.\u201d<\/p>\n Because her work schedule is super flexible, Kirsten has a lot of free time to go shopping, get her nails done and catch up with friends.<\/p>\n She says it also allows her to spend more time with her boyfriend when he is home from work.<\/p>\n This is in comparison to regular couples who both work a nine to five and only perhaps are able to spend nights and weekends together.<\/p>\n She added: \u201cPart-time stay at home girlfriend is a title that my boyfriend and I created and started off as a joke but it describes our situation perfectly.\u201d<\/p>\n When Kristen isn\u2019t working she goes to the gym before attending any beauty maintenance appointments she may have, such as her hair or nails.<\/p>\n She will then pick up any online shopping orders, as she usually has something arriving three or four times a week, before tidying up the apartment and doing household chores.<\/p>\n People tend to think that Kirsten and Alex\u2019s relationship is a sugar daddy and sugar baby arrangement, which is incorrect.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople also assume that Alex is \u2018whipped\u2019 or \u2018simping\u2019 and I have him completely wrapped around my finger which is absolutely not the case at all,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n \u201cAlex is very much the boss in our relationship and that\u2019s the way we both prefer it and he won\u2019t do anything he doesn\u2019t want to do.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t force him to treat me like a Princess he does it all on his own right from the moment we met.\u201d<\/p>\n People also assume that she relies on his income entirely and that she will have no safety net if the relationship fails.<\/p>\n Many are under the impression that the 25-year-old would also be unable to support herself without Alex\u2019s help.<\/p>\n \u201cFirstly, Alex and I do not plan on our relationship failing. We have the most wonderful relationship it\u2019s almost perfect in our opinion, we plan on marriage and children,\u201d Kirsten explained.<\/p>\n \u201cSecondly, I still have a savings account, I still earn superannuation from my employment for when I retire and I\u2019m not completely blinded by love.<\/p>\n \u201cI know that sometimes relationships don\u2019t work out. I take care of myself without taking advantage of my amazing man.\u201d<\/p>\n The 25-year-old revealed that the \u201csimping\u201d and \u201cwhipped\u201d misconception and criticism normally come from men.<\/p>\n However, the criticism she receives from women is usually quite angry and aggressive.<\/p>\n She added: \u201cThey believe that because I\u2019m a woman I should be a \u2018lady boss\u2019 and be earning all my own money.\u201d<\/p>\n Kirsten believes that society has certain expectations of what women should be in the 21st-century, which is reinforced by others on social media.<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cI definitely sometimes feel the pressure to become a \u2018successful\u2019 and self-employed \u2018lady boss\u2019 earning six figures and to take care of myself completely and I\u2019m criticised because my lifestyle choice goes against this idea of success.<\/p>\n \u201cI play a very feminine role in my relationship while my partner plays a very dominant masculine role and that\u2019s the way we both prefer it.\u201d <\/p>\n Kirsten wants those who criticise her lifestyle choice to simply mind their own business.<\/p>\n She acknowledges that what works for her and Alex might not work for others but that doesn\u2019t mean it should be criticised.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t see the full picture, just what I decide to share on social media,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n \u201cThis doesn\u2019t mean my life is \u2018fake\u2019 because I only share the truth but there is always more to a story and what\u2019s happening behind closed doors.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n![\"Kirsten](\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/0_Kirstenjpeg.jpg\")
