The chairperson of the Convention People’s Part, Madam Akosua Frimpongmaa, has surprised Ghanaians by stating that the e-levy has come to stay. Addressing the press, she said that most Ghanaians will not like and agree with her stance on the e-levy. She was of the view that the electronic levy is inevitable. Her main problem is the rate of taxation and she believed should rather be the bone of contention.<\/p>\n

“What is going on in Parliament is clearly a show of promotion of partisan interest. E-levy, I believe, is not going to be taken out. Even if it is taken out, it will be done temporarily. The pricing (1.75%) is ridiculously high. The telephony companies have also been cheating us every year. The 1 percent that we pay should have been addressed years back.<\/p>\n

“But for the government not to have addressed that and expect more is very bad. I believe that when they address that they will be able to address the e-levy.”, she added.<\/p>\n
