The government together with these communities have done all they could to stop the illegal mining in the country but people still embark on it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/3f20828482eb456a871416e774c2827f\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This has resulted in people turning themselves as taskforce to stop others from embarking on illegal mining in some localities. These taskforce are not mandated to do this. This implies that, the law do not give them the power to stop people from undertaking such activities.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the military has got hold of a number of people who claim they are a taskforce and they work for the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Honourable <span style=\"color: rgb(77, 81, 86);\">George Mireku Duker. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/27bc34a6ec6643f7805b0ddb232d4f2e\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/04304fde88254b68b95e3434d1812e80\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/1a1a31a4c4dc47989bb98f722a209923\"\/>This claim was made by a lady who is one of the members of the taskforce that has been arrested by the military. The lady revealed the above claim in video and audio. The video has been posted by Ghanaian musician A Plus on his Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>According to A Plus the gang members who have been arrested by the military were given 24 Lashes each. And when one of the them was asked to identify herself and who they and what they do, she revealed that they work for the Deputy Minister of Land and Natural Resources, Hon <span style=\"color: rgb(77, 81, 86);\">George Mireku Duker and their duty is to stop Galamsey( stopping people from practicing illegal mining).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/35fde80d86894566960b8338502e62ef\"\/><\/p>\n<p>According to the lady, they were sent to Western North Region to help stop people from Galamsey.
