{"id":761686,"date":"2022-01-22T15:29:57","date_gmt":"2022-01-22T15:29:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/22\/black-stars-head-coach-milovan-rajevac-sacked\/"},"modified":"2022-01-22T15:29:57","modified_gmt":"2022-01-22T15:29:57","slug":"black-stars-head-coach-milovan-rajevac-sacked","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/22\/black-stars-head-coach-milovan-rajevac-sacked\/","title":{"rendered":"Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac sacked"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"417\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Milovan-696x417.jpg\"   alt=\"Myjoyonine\" title=\"Milovan Rajevac\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sacked Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac.<\/p>\n<p>After supervising Ghana\u2019s woeful performance in the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon, the Serbian has been relieved of his duties.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after the Sports Ministry directed the GFA to reconstitute the Management Committee of the Ghana Black Stars.<\/p>\n<p>The decision follows an emergency meeting between the Ministry and the Association on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>At the meeting, they reviewed the Stars\u2019 performance at the AFCON 2021 and discussed preparations for the 2022 World Cup playoffs.<\/p>\n<p>In a press statement sighted by JoyNews, the Ministry \u201cmade it clear to the GFA that the people of Ghana have lost confidence in the capacity of the current technical team of the Black Stars to deliver success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GFA was, therefore, also directed to \u201creview the work and capacity of the current Black Stars\u2019 technical team, led by the head coach, Milovan Rajevac.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before the meeting, the Sports Ministry expressed its disappointment in the senior national soccer team for its abysmal performance at the ongoing AFCON tournament in Cameroon.<\/p>\n<p>The Black Stars failed to advance from the group stage in the tournament after losing to Comoros in its final game in Group C.<\/p>\n<p>The team exited the tournament with a point.
