{"id":761266,"date":"2022-01-22T00:56:13","date_gmt":"2022-01-22T00:56:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/22\/chief-justice-anin-yeboahs-message-to-judges\/"},"modified":"2022-01-22T00:56:13","modified_gmt":"2022-01-22T00:56:13","slug":"chief-justice-anin-yeboahs-message-to-judges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/22\/chief-justice-anin-yeboahs-message-to-judges\/","title":{"rendered":"Chief Justice Anin Yeboah&#8217;s Message To Judges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<article>\n<p>The Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana-Justice Anin Yeboah,\u00a0has sent a word of caution to all Judges and professional magistrates in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/a1228087c0f345f4bf6ed0a6a479f63e\"\/><\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0Justice Anin Yeboah,\u00a0he\u00a0had become aware, that some Judges and Professional Magistrates in the country, were not complying with the dress code of the profession, and that, \u201cJudges and professional magistrates must be fully robed in wig, and gown for court sittings at all times&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>A circular which was signed by Chief Justice Anin Yeboah, states that, sanctions will be imposed on judges and Professional Magistrates in the country who fail to comply.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/7241a0aaac3848758c8878aa6357503b\"\/><\/p>\n<p>According to the circular, the prescribed dress code for the MALE judges and Professional Magistrates are: Barrister\u2019s trousers (Trouseline) with Court waistcoat or Black trouser suit, White tunic shirt,\u00a0Collars held with studs and stiffeners, Court band tie\/bibs, Black plain socks and black shoes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The FEMALE judges and Professional Magistrates dress code, according to the Chief Justice are:\u00a0Black skirt or trouser suit or Barrister\u2019s skirt or trousers (Trouseline) with Court Waistcoat, White Court tunic shirt, or white top Or plain black sleeved (long or three quarters) dress, Collarette, Black Court or Block heeled Shoes (Full closed shoes)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/5f9cb73077f04718b83da32492dbc0a2\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Chief Justice further warned that, \u201cI re-iterate that dressing in this manner helps to preserve the decorum, seriousness, and formality of court proceedings and the importance of the proper administration of justice. For this reason, judges and professional magistrates should also ensure that members of the Bar who appear before the Courts strictly comply with the dress standards to maintain the dignity of the court.
