{"id":761066,"date":"2022-01-21T19:32:36","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T19:32:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/21\/ambulance-deal-ato-forsons-prosecution-crude-form-of-witch-hunt-kwakye-ofosu\/"},"modified":"2022-01-21T19:32:36","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T19:32:36","slug":"ambulance-deal-ato-forsons-prosecution-crude-form-of-witch-hunt-kwakye-ofosu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/21\/ambulance-deal-ato-forsons-prosecution-crude-form-of-witch-hunt-kwakye-ofosu\/","title":{"rendered":"Ambulance deal: Ato Forson&#8217;s prosecution crude form of witch- hunt &#8211; Kwakye Ofosu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Ekosii-sen-1-696x522.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Felix Kwakye Ofosu\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Felix Kwakye Ofosu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"300\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" allow=\"autoplay\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/1201066618&amp;color=%23ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;show_teaser=true&amp;visual=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Former Deputy Communications Minister in the erstwhile Mahama administration, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, is accusing the government of \u201cwitch-hunting\u201d outspoken Members of Parliament (MPs) of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n<p>He claimed the Akufo-Addo government in its bid to gag the MPs has made the Attorney General, Godfred Dame the \u201chatchet man\u201d to do the job.<\/p>\n<p>He made the comment while reacting to the prosecution of former Deputy Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson who is facing a charge of causing \u20ac2.3 million loss to the state.<\/p>\n<p>This charge relates to the procurement of ambulances for the country which the Attorney General says were unfit for purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Two other accused persons \u2013 a former Chief Director at the Ministry of Health, Sylvester Anemana, and a businessman Richard Jakpa \u2013 also pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking on Asempa FM\u2019s <strong>Ekosii Sen<\/strong> programme Friday, Mr Kwakye Ofosu said the ambulance deal involving Mr Forson is \u201cnowhere near a court matter\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Rather, he claimed it is a deliberate attempt to put fear in him [Ato Forson] for leading the Minority to reject the government\u2019s 2022 Budget.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestigations about the ambulance deal were in 2017 but suddenly because he is leading the NDC\u2019s economic onslaught on government, they have remembered to hold him,\u201d Mr Kwakye Ofosu stated.<\/p>\n<p>The former Deputy Communications Minister also revealed how six NDC MPs have been hauled before investigative bodies by the government since the 2022 Budget was rejected on November 26, 2021, in Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven the former Deputy Attorney General, Dominic Ayine, is being investigated over the Zuarungu market\u2026I mean, bizarre and inexplicable. The Minority Leader himself, John Jinapor, our MP for Akwatia, Ato Forson and a host of others.
