The (batakari k\u025bse\u025b) was given to Otumfour by Yaa Naa, The Over Lord of Dagbon . The presentation of this warrior dress was made to the Ashantehene Osei Tutu when he invited Yaa Naa Gariba for peace talks in 1715. That’s very long time ago<\/p>\n
And this is passed on to any King that ascends the throne, immediately you become the King of the “Asanteman”<\/p>\n
Whenever Otumfuo wears this traditional war amour no metal in the form of a bullet or knife could penetrate his body.<\/p>\n
Otumfour Osei Tutu II is the only Asantehene who has worn it twice, during his enthronment and during Asantehemaa’s funeral.<\/p>\n
The traditional amour is a sign of peace that exist between the Asante kingdom and the Dagbon for centuries.<\/p>\n
