{"id":759997,"date":"2022-01-21T07:49:48","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T07:49:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/21\/i-believed-he-was-the-right-man-for-the-job\/"},"modified":"2022-01-21T07:49:48","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T07:49:48","slug":"i-believed-he-was-the-right-man-for-the-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/21\/i-believed-he-was-the-right-man-for-the-job\/","title":{"rendered":"I believed he was the right man for the job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/269975007_135683178898686_5229174909240467087_n-696x464.jpg\"   alt=\"Milovan Rajevac\" title=\"Milovan Rajevac\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Milovan Rajevac <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ghana Football Association [GFA] president, Kurt Okraku, says there were high hopes in reappointing Milovan Rajevac as the head coach of the Black Stars.<\/p>\n<p>The Serbian trainer was awarded a one-year renewable deal by the country\u2019s football governing body after CK Akonnor was sacked in October after an unconvincing performance during the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n<p>Rajevac steered the team to\u00a0secure a World Cup play-off spot after beating South Africa in the last game.<\/p>\n<p>Though charged to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the Black Stars have been eliminated from the competition at the group phase with Milovan Rajevac in the dugout.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on <strong>Asempa FM<\/strong> on the<strong> Ultimate Sports Show<\/strong> following the Black Stars\u2019 shocking group stage exit, Mr Okraku said: \u201cEverybody has the right to pour out his or her heart and it is not for me to stop people from speaking what they think is the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GFA president also revealed they had hopes of seeing the team return to its best under Rajevac having seen him do well during his first stint in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn coaching, there are a lot of top-line managers who have failed in certain levels but made it in other ways. Rafael Benitez is one, Jose Mourinho is one. I\u2019m saying that we believed that Milovan was the right man that\u2019s why we gave him the job.
