Isn\u2019t it so weird how the moment you start to feel like you\u2019re actually moving on from someone\u00a0is the exact moment they text you?<\/p>\n

While I still slightly believe that men have some internal radar that detects when a woman is no longer into him, that has yet to be proven.<\/p>\n

So for now, we just have to accept this weird phenomenon as something we can\u2019t explain.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s annoying and the worst when your ex decides to reach out after you\u2019ve finally put the breakup to bed.<\/p>\n

It can feel like you\u2019re taking a million steps backward, and like you\u2019re right back to feel as crappy as you did when the relationship first ended.<\/p>\n

But it doesn\u2019t have to feel that way. Sometimes all you need is a new perspective.<\/p>\n

Lately, when my exes reach out to me, I\u2019ve been treating them with total and complete love.<\/p>\n

If my ex texting me a super cute \u201cwhat up shorty,\u201d after 11 p.m. on a Monday means I\u2019m moving on, then I tell myself to be stoked, not sad.<\/p>\n

If he\u00a0randomly texts me to name-drop his new girlfriend, I jump for joy not wallow in pity.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m moving on. He can feel it, and he\u2019s doing everything in his power to keep me in that sad place.<\/p>\n

So if all this is men trying to keep us from being happy without them \u2014 which is a phenomenon sometimes they can\u2019t understand \u2014 why are we letting them win? Why are we falling for it?<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t let a guy who broke your heart ever have the power to do it again.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t confuse his unexpected text or interaction as anything\u00a0other than him trying to manipulate or confuse you.<\/p>\n

Exes who reach back out when they see or hear that you\u2019re finally happy are just trying to mess with you. Plain and simple.<\/p>\n

And once you realize that there\u2019s nothing but bad intentions coming from this person, you can be even happier that you let that relationship go.<\/p>\n

You only want to make room in your life for people who can add something positive to it.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019re out and about with a smile finally back on your beautiful face, and your ex decides it\u2019s a perfect time to text you, don\u2019t hate. Get happy.<\/p>\n

If you have to respond \u2014 even though I think the best answer to a guy like that is almost always silence \u2014 be nice. There\u2019s no need to argue or even engage with someone who just wants to make you sad.<\/p>\n

You deserve to move on, and you shouldn\u2019t let a text from your ex keep you from doing just that.<\/p>\n
