A police officer, who rammed his car into three pedestrians, killing one of them and injuring two others at the Atico-Junction, is not getting away with that, as the Odorkor Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service launches an investigation into the fatal accident. <\/p>\n

The tragic incident happened on Thursday, January 13, 2022. <\/p>\n
The officer has been named as General Corporal Mahmood Abdulai. He was driving a Toyota Vitz from the Mallam Junction and heading towards Accra. <\/p>\n
He reportedly veered off the road, and in the process, run his car over three pedestrians. One of the pedestrians, whose name has been given as Dora Owusuaa, could not survive – died of her wounds at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. <\/p>\n
General Corporal Mahmood Abdulai is believed to have failed to exercise due care, resulting in the fatal accident. <\/p>\n
The police in a statement said the injuries sustained by the three pedestrians were serious and pledged that there was going to be justice. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe three victims sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for medical attention. <\/p>\n
However, the victim, Dora Owusuaa died while responding to treatment. <\/p>\n
Her body has been deposited at the same hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy whilst the others are undergoing treatment.\u201d <\/p>\n
Separately, a police officer has been stabbed to death in the Bono Region by a violent suspect, who was also shot and killed. <\/p>\n
A statement confirming the tragic death of the officer said; \u201cthe Police Administration, with a heavy heart, wishes to announce that a Police officer has been stabbed to death and in the process the violent suspect was also shot and killed. <\/p>\n

The sad incident happened in the Bono Region and further details will be given after we have duly informed the family and the next-of-kin of the late officer. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, we respectfully urge the public, especially the Media not to put the name of the officer and any sensitive details about the incident in the media until the family is duly briefed.\u201d<\/p>\n
