Most Ghanaians were hoping that the Black Stars of Ghana would win today’s game against Gabon in order to keep their hopes alive in the competition. This is the second game of the 2021 AFCON campaign, which was intended to be a must-win for Ghanaians to rekindle their hopes, however, the squad drew with Gabon. Morocco leads Group C with 6 points, Gabon is second with 4 points, Ghana’s Black Stars are third with 1 point, and Comoros is last with 0 points.<\/p>\n
Asamoah Gyan, the former striker and captain of the Ghana Black Stars, has expressed his frustration following the team’s 1 – 1 draw with Gabon. Before being asked why the Black Stars lost the game against Gabon, the brilliant former purposeful striker was photographed with sorrowful eyes, as if he was crying backstage.<\/p>\n
When the panellists questioned Asamoah Gyan why the Ghana Black Stars drew with Gabon, he responded as follows: “We were in control of the game from the start, but I believe Iddrisu’s absence had an impact on the squad. His injury and subsequent absence from the game changed our style of play, as you can see. To maintain our control of the game, the coach should have brought up two professional midfielders “.<\/p>\n

Asamoah Gyan further added that the team sat back too much. They should have kept their form because they were in control of the game, but instead, they dropped back and defended excessively, allowing Gabon to equalize.<\/p>\n
