{"id":748523,"date":"2022-01-13T21:44:30","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T21:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/13\/emirates-resumes-passenger-flights-to-ghana\/"},"modified":"2022-01-13T21:44:30","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T21:44:30","slug":"emirates-resumes-passenger-flights-to-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/13\/emirates-resumes-passenger-flights-to-ghana\/","title":{"rendered":"Emirates Resumes Passenger Flights to Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>EMIRATES AIRLINES has announced the resumption of flights to five African destinations, including Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued by the airline said, \u201cWith effect from January 13, Emirates will resume passenger services to and from Guinea (CKY), C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire (ABJ), Ghana (ACC), Uganda (EBB) and the Republic of Angola (Luanda).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emirates, in December 2021, extended an initial 48-hour ban on flights from Accra to Dubai indefinitely.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, December 28, 2021 it announced in a broadcast that \u201cEmirates flight suspension from Accra to Dubai effective December 27, 2021, is now extended until further notice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The airline, however, said Dubai to Accra flights would continue for passengers holding confirmed bookings and meeting the entry requirements for Accra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPassengers travelling from Guinea (CKY), Uganda (EBB) or Ghana (ACC) with final destination DXB (Dubai International Airport) require 48\u2011hours PCR and 6\u2011hours Rapid PCR and PCR on arrival in DXB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPassengers travelling from Guinea (CKY), Uganda (EBB), Ghana (ACC) and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire (ABJ) and transiting DXB, are only required to follow final destination rules, i.e. no 48 hours PCR or no 6\u2011hours PCR unless it is mandated by the final destination,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>It further noted that passengers travelling from Angola (LAD) or C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire (ABJ) and inbound DXB are required to have 72 hours PCR and PCR on arrival in DXB while passengers travelling from Angola (LAD) and transiting DXB are only required to have 72 hours PCR.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPassengers travelling from CKY\u2013DSS must follow final destination rules, which is no 48 hours PCR or no 6\u2011hours PCR unless it is mandated by the final destination,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>The broadcast further noted that passengers accepted for travel under the travel protocol must present a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at an approved facility within the stipulated hours of departure, test validity must be calculated from the time the sample was collected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPassengers who are required to undergo Covid-19 PCR test on arrival, must remain in self-quarantine until they receive the test result,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BY Jamila Akweley Okertchiri<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EMIRATES AIRLINES has announced the resumption of flights to five African destinations, including Ghana.
