{"id":748400,"date":"2022-01-13T20:21:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T20:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/13\/suspected-burkinabe-criminals-making-life-miserable-for-the-fulani\/"},"modified":"2022-01-13T20:21:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T20:21:00","slug":"suspected-burkinabe-criminals-making-life-miserable-for-the-fulani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/13\/suspected-burkinabe-criminals-making-life-miserable-for-the-fulani\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspected Burkinabe Criminals Making Life Miserable For The Fulani"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<article>\n<p>Criminals gangs suspected to be nationals of neighbouring Burkina Faso are causing so much pain and making life miserable for the Fulani community in the Mamprugu-Moaduri district of the North East Region. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/0fcbf66830a147fb873f395fde787181\"\/><\/p>\n<p>They have for some time now been targeting the Fulani, who are rich, for abduction, kidnapping in other words. <\/p>\n<p>These suspected foreign criminals would cross the border into Ghana to kidnap well-to-do people of the Fulani extraction and then make a demand for payment of huge ransom to free them. <\/p>\n<p>This has become a major security worry for the authorities as the Fulani in the area are having sleepless nights and living in fear. <\/p>\n<p>The North East Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has held an emergency meeting to calibrate an appropriate response to tackle and neutralize the cross-border criminals, tormenting the Fulani. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/b02fda3154d04b5f93f8aa1be1e62177\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Already, two of the suspected kidnappers have been captured by the police and taken into custody. <\/p>\n<p>Their names have been given as Issah Berliko and Karim Yartag. <\/p>\n<p>Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Robert Angmain Anabiik of the Police Public Affairs, North East Regional Police Command, has confirmed the arrest and detention of the two suspected kidnappers. <\/p>\n<p>The two have been linked to the abduction of a man at Yariba, a community in the district. <\/p>\n<p>ASP Anabiik said they were arrested following police investigations into a reported abduction of a man at Yariba. <\/p>\n<p>About 10 cases of kidnapping had been filed with the police in the district in the last three months of the year 2021 alone. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/10c61c47b1dd4ddb90edeb8b6eca447d\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The police in response have upped their game \u2013 increased surveillance and intelligence-gathering to stay ahead of the criminals and stop them from having their way. <\/p>\n<p>They have also intensified public education to encourage the people to flag up to the security agencies any suspicious characters they see in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>Content created and supplied by: KyeretwienanaOseiBonsu (via  Opera<br \/>\nNews )<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<p class=\"copyright hide\">\n<span class=\"content\">    ,  .   ,     .
