It was another interesting day in court when the case involving the fake Takoradi pregnant lady was called. The court president of by His Worship Michael Ampadu has set every Thursday to sit on the case to enable a speedy trial. Now, various witnesses are being called to testify in the case which took the entire nation by shock.<\/span><\/p>\n Already, the husband of Josephine Mensah Panyin has testified before the court after going through cross-examinations from lawyers of both sides. The same happened to the mother of Josephine Mensah Panyin. It would be recalled that after the incidence of her kidnapping was announced, she was first found at Axim, in the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region by some residents.<\/span><\/p>\n These included a carpenter and his apprentice. The carpenter, Mr. Michael Appiah was in court to be cross-examined. He told the court how he came across Josephine Mensah Panyin at the premises of the Jehovah’s Witness church and how she looked stressed up. Another person who stormed the court to testify in the case was a Tailor whose name has been given as Ayeh Nyame Ebenezer.<\/span><\/p>\n All the while, he has been silent when the issue broke but has decided to be part of the witnesses in court. The Tailor, Ayeh Nyame Ebenezer also told the court that he met Josephine at the shop of the carpenter and decided to help her out. They tried to find out what she was going through but she was only responding with gestures. The Tailor was one of the few persons who first saw Josephine Panyin Mensah, he was also cross-examined by lawyers from both sides and later discharged.<\/span><\/p>\n \ufeff<\/span><\/span> The medical Doctor who also examined Josephine, Jerry Attobra was also in court to testify. He reiterated his earlier admonition that Josephine was never pregnant. Josephine Panyin Mensah was as usual in court with his husband, mother, and other family members to also witness the case. Her lawyer, Philip Fiifi Buckan was optimistic that his client will sail through in the case. He has expressed his readiness to cross-examine any witness who will be put forward by the police.<\/span><\/p>\n Josephine Mensah Panyin is standing trial at the Takoradi Circuit Harbor court for faking kidnapping and pregnancy. Her case caught national attention after she reported that some unknown persons kidnapped her and took away her baby.
