{"id":747014,"date":"2022-01-12T23:23:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-12T23:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/12\/covid-19-vaccination-ghana-medical-association-versus-the-concerned-ghanaian-doctors\/"},"modified":"2022-01-12T23:23:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-12T23:23:00","slug":"covid-19-vaccination-ghana-medical-association-versus-the-concerned-ghanaian-doctors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/12\/covid-19-vaccination-ghana-medical-association-versus-the-concerned-ghanaian-doctors\/","title":{"rendered":"Covid-19 Vaccination: Ghana Medical Association Versus The Concerned Ghanaian Doctors&#8217;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<article>\n<p>The Ghana Medical Association (GMA), has also reacted to the recent petition presented to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, by The\u00a0Concerned Ghanaian Doctors&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/9f94d699ba4b4709ae01d461f716384c\"\/><\/p>\n<p>According to the Ghana Medical Association, the contents of the petition by the the doctors, against the vaccine roll-out filed by some 11 medical doctors in the country, as misleading and also not based on any scientific data.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Medical Association in their statement; issued on Wednesday January 12, 2022, stated that,\u201cThe GMA finds the contents of the petition misleading, unfortunate and not based on available local and international scientific data&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/987091837da4495f965932b45d46299b\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Some doctors in Ghana; on Monday, January 10, 2022, petitioned President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to issue a directive for the nationwide vaccine roll-out in the fight against the corona virus pandemic to pause.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Concerned Ghanaian Doctors&#8217;, in their petition cited how some countries like Israel and the United Kingdom (UK), are still battling with the\u00a0corona virus pandemic, despite a high vaccination rate of their respective countries.<\/p>\n<p>According to them, \u201cThese countries have very high vaccination rates, currently deploying booster programmes, yet they are struggling to get the virus under control especially with these new variants\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The concern doctors further stated that, &#8220;It doesn\u2019t take a genius to recognize the financial benefit of pharmaceutical companies in demonising potential early, effective treatments.
