In an era where there has been inquisition into how some appointees of government get to fund their political campaign shortly after taking office, Sammy Awuku had caused a spectacle for the opposition party; National Democratic Congress (NDC) to continue bastardising the government with unfounded allegations of “unexplained wealth” or simply, corruption.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Strangely, Sammy Awuku failed to correct his so-called admirers who he claimed sponsored the advertisement; despite the acknowledgement that it was highly inappropriate. A brief has been making rounds shortly after the image of the billboard went viral but Sammy Awuku did not condemn the act.<\/span><\/p>\n The chameleonic character Sammy Awuku had clothed himself amid this incident is rather disappointing. It would be disastrous for the NPP to sit aloof for this to continue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A full scale investigation must be carried into this, and more especially for the President to begin an evaluation of the work on Sammy Awuku and other young appointees who might have taken government positions\/offices as means of enriching themselves to contest elections.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The more troubling matter in this development is the fact that Members of 8th Parliament are just a year older in office after being sworn-in on January 7, 2021. Sammy Awuku is simply preying on his appointment to make an entry into the local politics in the constituency at such a premature period.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The party is nowhere close to determining a date to open nominations for interested persons to file for election at the parliamentary levels, and as such this early signal from the camps of Sammy Awuku could hurt the party.
