{"id":739808,"date":"2022-01-07T22:36:01","date_gmt":"2022-01-07T22:36:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/07\/kath-sacks-staff-who-dragged-ceo-to-chraj\/"},"modified":"2022-01-07T22:36:01","modified_gmt":"2022-01-07T22:36:01","slug":"kath-sacks-staff-who-dragged-ceo-to-chraj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/01\/07\/kath-sacks-staff-who-dragged-ceo-to-chraj\/","title":{"rendered":"KATH sacks staff who dragged CEO to CHRAJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"435\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/KATH-696x435.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"KATH\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0Awuni Akyireba, staff at the\u00a0Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital\u00a0(KATH) in Kumasi who petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the management over its COVID-19 funds has been dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>According to the hospital, Mr Akyireba\u2019s decision to go to the media with the information he had gathered instead of the hospital\u2019s Management, was a breach of KATH\u2019s disciplinary code, Section 13:02 xiii (misconduct).<\/p>\n<p>Mr Akyireba, who is a Certified Chartered Forensic Accountant at the hospital, in November 2021 alleged that management has misused the Covid-19 funds accrued during the height of the pandemic in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>He said Civil Society Organisations, philanthropists, individuals among others at the peak of the pandemic donated to the facility to augment the government\u2019s efforts.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The petitioner said notable among the donation was a cash of $100,000 and $20,000 from businessman Kwame Despite and Black Stars Midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah respectively.<\/p>\n<p>However, at a business review meeting, Dr Danso allegedly revealed the hospital incurred losses and were among other things unable to pay staff bonuses.<\/p>\n<p>But the Disciplinary Committee of the hospital has also described contents of his submissions as false and his explanation of same to the media as a breach of hospital protocols, hence his dismissal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALSO READ:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The committee added Mr Akyireba\u2019s claims that the management used Covid-19 donations to acquire luxury vehicles were falsehood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAgain, it is true that the official vehicle for the Medical Director was involved in an accident but a Police report on the incident indicates the driver as Prof Baffour Opoku, the Medical Director, not his wife as you alleged.
